Cafe Gartino Gurgaon Review

Cafe Gartino located in Sector 29, Gurgaon opened its doors to the patrons today. A brainchild of T.P. Singh & Kulbeer Singh, Cafe Gartino promises to change the way restaurants in Gurgaon entertain their guests. Not to be judged by the word “Café” by itself, Cafe Gartino is not just a Café but also a Resto Lounge & Bar which offers multifarious cuisines.

Totally designed indigenously, Cafe Gartino uses interesting (read .. quirky) interiors made of recycled automotive and plumbing items. Don’t be surprised if you sit on a table with an engine block as a stand or when you see bulbs sticking out of plumbing pipes. Spread over two levels it can house 150 people comfortably. The upper level has a typical café type of seating, an outdoor sitting are with a covered deck as well as a spacious garden. The lower basement on the other hand is done up like an American diner, has diffused lighting and a huge DJ’s console. This are will work very well for private parties. Lighting is LED powered and can be dimmed or brightened as required though I must admit that in some parts it looks a bit tacky too. The furniture is plush and makes you lazy as you sit in it.

Cafe Gartino also boasts of the largest outdoor audio-video wall in the capital apart from individual screens on both indoor levels. Get ready to cheer during the upcoming cricket and football seasons. Sports lovers can’t get better than this at least in Gurgaon. Says the restaurant’s chief consultant Raminder Bakshi who has evolved the concept & food and beverage lineup with the Singhs, “this kind of concept is very novel & fresh. The spaces and menus have been designed as such that it will make people of all age groups very happy.”

The menu is multi-cuisine so you will find an array of Grills (the burgers & steaks sampled during food tasting exercises are very good), Chinese, Indian and Italian. Beyond pasta, fresh thin crust pizzas are baked in a wood fired oven located at the fag end of the garden. We couldn’t find a fault with the pizza except on one occasion when the sauce seemed to be a bit sweet. Having said that, we will come up with a detailed food review of Café Gartino shortly now that their menu is finalised.

In the meantime, you can make the most of the weekend and head out to Cafe Gartino for a scrumptious meal and let us know how you fared.
