By Times of India – TBT: Irrfan on working with Rishi in ‘D-Day’ Bollywood is currently mourning the loss of two versatile and legendary actors Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor who passed away on Wednesday and Thursday respectively at a Mumbai hospital. Both the actors were battling with cancer.
Irrfan and Rishi shared screen space for the first time in filmmaker Nikhil Advani’s ‘D-Day’. Talking about sharing the screen space with Rishi, Irrfan said in an old interview that his cousin is his ultimate fan. However, he too has watched all of his movies. The actor stated that he never thought he had it in him to be a Rishi Kapoor. According to Irrfan, Rishi is a hot liquid.
Elaborating further, Irrfan added that Rishi has spent so much time cultivating his craft that he has become one of those stars you never have enough of, even if he is doing the same thing. He stated that probably that is exactly what made Rishi’s second innings so spectacular. According to Irrfan, Rishi doesn’t have to be a star anymore so he is having a blast being an actor.
‘D-Day’ boasted of an ensemble star cast that also included Arjun Rampal, Shruti Haasan, Huma Qureshi and others in key roles. The film that released in 2013, received positive reviews from the audience and the critics alike.
Irrfan is survived by his wife Sutapa Sikdar and sons Babil and Ayan. Rishi, on the other hand, is survived by wife Neetu Kapoor, son Ranbir and daughter Riddhima Sahni.
