JJP wins poll of Kaithal ZP chief, defeats BJP in Haryana

jjp wins poll of kaithal zp chief defeats bjp in haryana

Jind: JJP on Friday defeated the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the elections held for the post of chairman of zila parishad in Kaithal district. The two parties are in alliance in the coalition government in Haryana.
Recently, the JJP, led by deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, defeated the saffron party in zila parishad’s chairman’s elections held in Uchana town and Jind district market committee. In the state assembly elections held in 2019, the JJP had won 10 out of 90 seats, including three from Jind, and later forged an alliance with the BJP which had won 40 seats.
In Kaithal district, high-voltage drama was seen all-day-long after JJP’s Digvijay Chautala and BJP MP Nayab Saini reached the spot. JJP leaders alleged that the BJP was using force to take votes from the zila parishad members in the election for the chairman’s post. After a 2-day-long marathon exercise, JJP’s Dilbag Singh alias Deep Malik won with one vote.
