By Times of India – Sent to Indonesia instead of Australia, man loses Rs 7 lakh Representative ImageAMBALA: The police have registered an immigration fraud case of Rs 7.10 lakh against a man and his two sons, who allegedly promised the complainant to send him to Australia, but instead sent him to Indonesia. Jarnail Singh of Lakhnaur Sahib village in Ambala district lodged a complaint against three accused Banta Ram and his sons Sanjay Kumar and Sohan Lal of Shankar Colony, Kishanpura, Kurukshetra. On the complaint of Jarnail, the three accused have been booked under relevant sections of the IPC at Ambala Sadar police station on Friday. Jarnail said, “I had paid Rs 7.10 lakh to Banta Ram and his sons Sanjay and Sohan Lal for sending me to Australia, but they instead they sent me to Indonesia. I stayed for about four months in Indonesia and I got ill and for about one-and-a-half months, I stayed in jail. Later, they deported me to India. On reaching India, I demanded the accused to return my money, but they did not give any satisfactory response. I lodged a complaint against them and they assured me to return Rs 7.10 lakh and gave me two cheques. Both the cheques got dishonoured from the bank.” Ambala Sadar police station house officer (SHO) subinspector Suresh Kumar said, “A case has been registered and the investigation will be carried forward.” FacebookTwitterLinkedinEMail
