Ingredients
- 3 tbsp dalia ( broken wheat / godhuma rava )
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 cardamom pod ( elaichi / elakkai )
- 1/2 tsp ghee ( or clarified butter )
- 1/2 cup milk
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Heat ghee in a pan. Add dalia.
- Roast the dalia on medium heat. Keep stirring and roast it till you get a nice aroma and the color of the dalia changes to brown.
- Add 1 1/2 cups water and a pinch of salt. Let the dalia cook on a medium-low heat till it turns soft and absorbs all the water.
- Then add sugar.
- Crush the seeds of the cardamom pod using a mortar and pestle and sprinkle it on the dalia. Alternatively, use cardamom powder.
- Mix well and add milk.
- Bring the milk to a boil. Then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 3 mins. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced almonds or toppings of your choice. Sweet dalia is now ready to be served warm or you can chill and serve.
Notes
